Skills- Demonstrates excellent verbal, written and organization skills. Knowledge of group dynamics, valid NYS Driver License
Job Description
Conducts diagnostic psychological evaluations for children referred to the evaluation center.
Provides input as a member of the Diagnostic Team and completes written reports in a timely manner to meet specific time lines.
Serves as a resource person to classroom staff. Assists staff and/or completes Functional Behavior Assessments and behavior programs. Provides information regarding teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual children.
Provides counseling services as needed.
Participates in staffings and team meetings when requested
Performs required follow-up psychological evaluations of children enrolled in program.
Provides parent education/training as needed.
Conducts staff in-service training when requested.
Follows the policy of confidentiality regarding client/family information
Conducts self so as to best contribute to, promote and implement the mission, philosophy and policies of the agency.
Participates in CSE/CPSE meetings on an as-needed basis.
Keeps informed of current birth to five legislation and of new developments in the field of psychology.
Fulfills other requirements as requested by supervisor and/or Program Director.
Qualifications/Experience Required
Demonstrates positive interaction skills with children/their caregivers and colleagues. Excellent report writing and organization skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to people of different backgrounds and abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to maintain composure under pressure, effective facilitation & presentation skills and maintain a professional appearance
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, as well as the ability to grasp other required computer systems.
Ability to adjust to ideas, technologies, activities, etc.
Strong time management skills
Ability to use standard office equipment including personal computer, phone, fax, copier, etc. Must be able to drive a vehicle. Must be able to speak and listen. Lifting minimum of 30 lbs. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Must have the physical abilities and stamina to participate in children's play and sustain active work throughout the day. Work with children requires:
Ability to walk or run quickly
Ability sit on the floor or in child-sized chairs for extended periods of time;
Ability to bend at the waist, kneel or crouch to maintain eye contact with children;
Ability to walk on rough or uneven ground
Ability to lift children
Ability to work in cold or hot outdoor conditions
Ability to maintain the safety of the environment and children through visual, auditory, olfactory and tactile senses
Must be able to move quickly and react calmly in response to an emergency
Must exhibit good judgment in matters concerning the health and safety of children
Permanent Certification in School Psychology
Valid NYS Driver license
Working conditions are typical for a childcare setting
Exposure to bodily fluids, potentially infectious material and communicable diseases
Special Instructions (Overtime, Alternate Schedule, Travel, etc.)
Work schedule: Monday-Friday
Total hours per week: 37.5

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
